The foam front that makes your forehead looks twice as tall as it really is.. and worse... the cheap mesh net at the back to supposedly let ventilation in.

Please face it... they look shit.. if you wanna wear a cap, wear a baseball cap. At least they conform to the shape of your head and don't look like you made it at home from your gramma's curtains.

• Taking Bike licence test in February
• Cranbourne Rodeo listed on calender - plan to attend
• I Made a pair of PJ pants. Stuffed up a little bit but I'm wearing them now so it turned out OK.
• Going out for dinner tomorrow night.
• Managed to fix my wireless network connection
• I have been able to buy my tumbler and kiln on Bartercard... whoo hoo!

Pranks to play at Christmas:

• Put the "lucky penny" in the turkey instead of the Christmas Pud... whoever requires the Hiemlich Maneouvre has won!
• Decorate the dog's tail with tinsel, then watch him run round for hours trying to get it off.
• Put the volume to zero on the Queen's speak then sit there and make comments about how wise and wonderful she is while your relatives wonder why then can't hear her.
• Buy everyone Gifts you know they will hate and award points for the cheesiest fake smiles.
• Put yellow food dye in ice cubes for drinks and tell guests you used snow from outside.

The start of the new year is always a time where I feel motivated and positive. It always seems the ideal to plan those things you always wanted to do.. to make 2009 a year to remember.

In 2008 I:-

• Did Silver making Classes
• Rode my first Motorbike
• Took C. to his first live concert
• Started a fantastic new job
• Built a pergola (or rather had one built)
• Made my own work desk from scratch
• Became an Australian Citizen
• Upgraded to HD and went wireless
• Went to Gold Coast Theme Parks
• Saw Mike Dooley
• Went on a Test Drive Day
• Attended an Expo by myself
• Joined Facebook
• Started Plans to Build a new House
• Been on the Radio (very very briefly...)
• Went to Oaks Day

I'm sure there's more but can't think of them at the moment...

So Far in 2009 I plan to:-

• Get my Motorbike Licence
• Attend Cranbourne Rodeo
• Go to The Australian Open (that's Tennis to the non-sports fans!)

• Finish Building my House

This is gonna sound terribly ungrateful, but toiletry gift sets, bath gift sets, pedicure gift sets etc etc, should just be banned for life.

Not only is it a subtle attack on my personal hygiene, but then I have my dilemmas:-

1) How do I use sparkly bath bubbles in a creative way, in view of the fact that I never have a bath (I always shower... and although most people find them relaxing, I find them kinda boring and even verging on the disgusting... being that I am sitting in water which in turn is now tainted with my own filth)

2) How do I creatively re-use the rather useless basket/wire tray it came in?

3) If I fail to find creative re-uses, which poor sucker do I re-gift it to next year?

Let's just cross these off the gift lists, then no-one has to worry about what they are getting from me next year!

Check this out! It's an awesome optical illusion I discovered while wandering around the "Fuel My Blog" Peeps.

When I saw it here.. I could only get her to spin anti-clockwise.. didn't matter how I looked at it, I couldn't get her to change direction.

When I looked here though... I can get her to go clockwise, as long as I look at the left picture. The minute I look at the right one she changes direction.

It's bizarre!

My brain knows it's left from it's right, even though I have to check occasionally by pretending to write with my right hand when someone asks me for directions (am I the only person who does that?)

Cousin It's Tale

This is Cousin It. A wonderful surprise present from a blogger friend.

He very nearly didn't make it into our family. I have a PO Box. My mum normally collects for me as I work business hours. She got the card in the box advising that a parcel was waiting. When she went to collect it the guy at the counter recognised her from her regular visits, he was a little concerned...

"Your PO Box is normally for Txx or Cxx is that right?"

"yep"

"... but this is addressed to BHB, so it must not be for you. You expecting a cuddly toy?"

"..... erm...... nope...."

She had to ring me at work, and I had to confirm over the phone that yes, BHB was in fact an alias of mine, and that I was entitled to collect the parcel.

Sometimes, my alter-ego causes me to blush.
