Sometimes, Tracy, having more fun and being happier comes from looking for each in crazy, new places; instead of waiting for them to come from where you've found them before or where others are now finding them.
And I do mean crazy. Not just from the old standbys of travel, adventure, and romance, but from stretching, reaching, and growing. Accepting new responsibilities for your happiness, totally accepting others, and grasping even higher ideals. Philosophically taking yourself to places few have ever dared before.

Cool things I Found This Week
Weird and Wonderful
- Did a search for "living dress" (I wanted to know what Lady Ga Ga had tweeted about) and I found this site - lots of weird and wonderful stuff - especially the Skull Dress (above) very bizarre!
- One of my followees (is that the right word for someone I follow?) on Twitter posted a link to this article which I found very clever and amusing
- The E-mail facts of Life - words of wisdom!

Jessica Mauboy
She's so lovely, she's sooooo nice, and so down to earth...
Her songs are fizzy - like coke with a Mentos mint...
She's soooooo sweet that she makes my teeth ache...
Everybody loves her.... except me!
Too much sugar is bad for you!

What is your biggest pet peeve?
Read my Room 101 posts every Wednesday - there's too many to choose from. Guess my biggest one of all though is Complacency.
What's the worst date you've ever been on?
I did try internet dating once and a guy showed up to the date with a tube of KY Jelly in his pocket. I'm all for being Optimistic, but that was just way tooo much, and kinda insulting!
What movie do you never get tired of watching?
League of Extraordinary Gentleman, and I had a thing when I was younger for Weekend at Bernies and Stakeout, but I haven't seen either of those for ages!

From the Universe
A super-secret, double-reminder for all fearless flowers:
If you but soak up the sunlight you are given, drink each drop of water I send, and strive only to be yourself, life shall quicken in your roots, spirit shall raise you into the light, and your bloom will inspire the world.
You see... I do all the hard stuff.

BBC host arrested over lover's killing
Was it naive of him to think he could confess on National TV and not have consequences, or is he making a stand for those who have to suffer the torture of watching their loved ones die a terrible and painful death? So much grey and "what ifs" is gonna make this debate continue for years to come.
Chimp-shooting cop stress claim denied
Don't shoot a chimp unless you can handle the guilt. Right turn Clyde. (yeah I know he was an Orangutan)
Biggest Loser trainer sued over 'toxic' diet pills
I told you that exercise and dieting is bad for you! Fat people of the world - UNITE! (over a donut!)
Prince William gets some hair Photoshopped on
SFW!!!! What average young male wouldn't!

People Who Use the Force
This is actually not a dig at Star Wars fans - so no hate mail thank you. It's those people who despite given a set of instructions, fail to use them, preferring to "use the force" or rather, they automatically assume that they know better and don't need to read instructions.
Of course, this means that they fuck it up!
READ THE INSTRUCTIONS - THAT'S WHAT THEY ARE THERE FOR!

Things I learned this week
- Top Gear is not just a TV show, it's a religion to millions of fans around the world. Mess with it at your peril, Nine.
- Improvising is good, but burns a hole in your gloves.
- I'm easily distracted

Unusual Hobby Books
Under the heading "Stuffed Animals" I found this:
Practical Taxidermy by Montague Browne
Not quite the stuffed animals I had in mind...... and what makes Taxidermy "practical"?
Building Bots by William Gurstelle
Designing and building Warrior Robots. When building just any old robot is just not enough!
Prefer something a bit naughtier? what about...
Forbidden Lego, by Mike Dooley & Ulrik Pilegaard
Forbidden Lego introduces you to the type of free-style building that LEGO's master builders do for fun in the back room (!!!!)

What is the most daring thing you've ever done?
Pretty boring I guess for some, and I can't pick just one, but here are some scary moments for different reasons:
1) Going for My Motorbike Learners.
2) Going to a Business Luncheon/Conference on my own. (I am not a social butterfly, and can't small talk to save my life... the real me only seems to come out in written form like this)
3) Going to visit some guy interstate that I had only met once previously.
Describe your most embarrassing moment.
you could include all 3 above (!) .... only joking! I did used to work in a pub, and one night was in their drinking on my day off. I went to the toilet and came out with my skirt tucked in my granny knickers that were holding my thick tights up (it was the 80s!) My boss told me... the one I had a huge crush on!
If you had to pick a car that describes you, which would it be?
Hmmm, tough one.
I personally would like to think of myself as fun, flirty and reliable - like the Toyota Rav4, but I guess some would see my as quiet, sensible and tough, which when I googled that I got a review of the Volkswagen Golf GTi by my favourite Car boy Richard Hammond:-
"serious, sensible, tough, ..... That said, to give it some semblance of a sense of humour...."
- sounds about right!

From the Universe
First, completely forget about who, how, and when. Then, decide only upon what you want, the end result, with as much clarity as possible. I'll shuffle the deck, the magic show will begin, and jokers won't be all that are wild.
Gosh, you're so much fun to watch when you read these things.

Man 'tattooed baby, 1, on backside'
On what planet was this guy born? What the hell would make anyone believe that this is ok?
victims outraged by appointment of drink-driver as Victoria's newest magistrate
If this Magistrate does not have enough self judgement to know that he is not safe to drive, then now can we expect him to make a reasonable and sound judgement on other people?

What 3 physical features do you get compliments on most?
My hair, my skin.... erm, can't think of a 3rd.... I get told I have small hands, but not sure whether that's a compliment or not :)
Describe your perfect vacation.
Tropical Island in the middle of nowhere with all available luxuries. Alternate between spending 1 day lazing around on the beach or by the pool, then 1 day exploring the island or taking a cruise or safari. Lots of scrumptious food that doesn't give you the runs, and cocktails that don't give you hangovers.
What has been the best decision you've ever made?
My son is the obvious choice, but I guess in general my best decision is one I make every day, and that is to stay positive, be happy, and enjoy life.

Macquarie banker caught ogling Kerr online faces sack
He's just got busted on National TV checking his e-mails when he should be working. It's now had half a million hits on U-tube and counting, plus radio discussions and appeared on all the news and gossip shows. Hasn't he suffered enough?
'Shovel-ready' wins word of year
I can think of much better words to be applicable for the award - like TwitFace - someone who uses both Twitter and Facebook!
Cricket legend McGrath finds love again
Great to hear... just one thing.... IT'S NONE OF OUR BUSINESS!

This Crappy Fat ad
It makes me cringe every time I see it staring at me from an internet page. Totally unrealistic, and an unhealthy way of portraying women in a way to sell products. There is no wonder we have issues with anorexia and bulimia when you have images like this coming at you when you are trying to read the news online or looking up information.

What is your favorite sport to watch?
I lurve watching footy. Nothing like men manhandling each other to make for a fun and interesting evening!
That's Aussie Rules by the way for you Poms and Yanks. :)
What phobias do you have?
Hate spiders, used to be a phobia but since getting older I am not as scared as I used to be. In teenage years I couldn't even be in the same room as them. Now I can look at them, from a distance... just. Can't touch them though. My other phobia is people chasing me with spiders in their hands. I had that done to me once "yeah, real fuckin funny!" NOT! Oh, and looking at the picture above kinda freaks me out. Even tho I know it's a picture. Original pic on Google was big, and it brought a lump to my throat!
My real phobia is death. Nuff said.
Do you play any instruments?
I can "play" keyboards. sometimes using more than 1 finger too. I used to be good at the "recorder" at school. I attempted double bass, but my hands weren't big enough. I can play "smoke on the water" on the guitar (can't everyone?) Oh, and I play a Mean Tambourine!
