The Dreaded Silver Doors
I hadn't even got there yet and I was dreading the moment when I would have to face them.
These huge steel doors symbolise sadness and heartbreak. I have said goodbye to many a loved one at these doors, either by travelling through them myself, or like now, as I see the final wave as the doors close and shed the final tear.
Until we meet again Dad. Love ya heaps.
Thanks to this blog for the pic!

Quirky Tuesday
This weeks topic is "Dad" in honour of my current guest ;)
- My dad loves Wile E Coyote & Roadrunner cartoons. He laughs out loud with tears in his eyes.
- He was once stranded in a van in a flood and had to be rescued by the fire brigade when it started floating away
- He dances strangely and plays a wicked air guitar!

Please raise your glasses to 100 posts! and here's to at least a 100 more... you lucky lucky things!

Quirky Tuesday
- I am famous at parties for the unusual way I eat Ferrero Rocher
- The last fancy dress I went to was a 70s theme... and I went as a member of Boney M, complete with head to toe in brown make-up.
- At my last dinner party I bought some of the food and let my guests believe I had cooked it myself.
Quirky Tuesday will have a different topic each week, to tell everyone about a quirk / ritual / obsession / routine about that subject. As little or as many as you like if you're playing along at home. (I sound like a game show host!). Readers can meme it on their own blogs or just comment on here. Don't forget to link!

4. Name another use for an L.P. record other than playing it. I was going to frame mine and put them on the wall. I used Cds instead. I hear they make good frisbees too... or table mats maybe? or sushi platters? Hmmmm

Departures and Arrivals
Next week is gonna be even more hectic. Still have to help out in the family business where I can, as well as tidying up at my "real" job before my 10 days leave I booked. My Dad arrives from Perth on Wednesday... at 11pm at night, the airport being 2-3 hours drive away. That morning I also have my Australian Citizenship Interview, and the next day is Pops Funeral. Then Friday is C's Birthday and the Saturday his friends are coming over for a party.
Forgive me if I don't check in as often as usual ;)
Do you ever get the feeling that the whole thing is changin'? Like
somethin' is coming to an end because somethin' else is beginning?"

Is all this fuss Necessary???
I saw on the news this 1 guy needs 700 people to help him get here!
Mr Bush's 700-strong entourage includes Secret Service agents, bodyguards and political advisers. He has brought his own sniffer dogs, a medical team and a personal chef as well as a fleet of 20 cars. What can 150 bodyguards do that 10 can't?????
We have huge high fences erected... snipers... checkpoints.... police everywhere... but even then... this happens.
so what is the point of all this security... a deterrant??? It certainly isn't going to stop someone hurting him if they REALLY want to... but then who would be stupid enough to do it when the whole world along with 700 staff is watching him?
Oh, and this is from the same guys that staged the convoy.. enjoy!

Room 101
This week Bob Downe has to go into Room 101.
The polyester lounge suit wearing, large gleaming teeth bearing, big wide bug eyed glaring, cheesy badly sung song sharing "comedian" makes me cringe!
I'm sure the alter ego is a much nicer fella. Here's hoping :)

Quirky Tuesday

- I used to collect collections:- I had stamp collections, eraser/rubber collection, ornament collection, also postcards, magnets, marbles, stickers, train tickets, dragons and pens.
- I took up Karate as a hobby, but only cause I had a crush on the teacher (blush!)

Music Mambo
Ladies and gentleman, welcome to BDInsanity Bowl I. Today is Football Day! Hut-Hut-HUT!
1. The quarterback is the most important player on a football team. He controls the action, and the responsibility for the team's success is on his shoulders. Which musician is your choice for musical QB?
Freddy Mercury. The King of the Stage performance.
2. What album scores a touchdown for you (i.e. it's just the best)?
Hard to pick just one... erm... Travis "The Invisible Band" I have never skipped a track on that CD... ever!.. although I used to have a habit of playing "Flowers in the Window" over and over and over....
3. What song needs a game ejection?
erm... I guess that means a crap song. In which case it would be that godawful Crazy Frog.
4. Football is about intense, bone-crushing excitement. What song or artist gives you that same feeling?
Robbie Williams - his live shows make me weak!
